Luna 2005 Merlot
Argentina, Mendoza Province
A+
Wow! I loved this wine from the 1st sip. It is everything I enjoy about a great Merlot. The percentage of Merlot to Malbec is 70/30. A good friend once told me that Malbec is even better than Merlot. Perhaps it is the 30% of Malbec in this that I love so much.
Tarara 2006 Vidal Blanc
United States, Virginia, Northern Neck
A-
A delightfully refreshing and lightly sweet wine. I purchased this at a wine festival and drank it on-site while listening to live music.
Tacora 2006 Chardonnay
Chile, Curico Valley
B
Not unpleasant. But I am definitely a red wine drinker over a white wine drinker.
Lismore Range 2006 Chardonnay
Australia, South Australia
B
Not to acidic. A refreshing drink.
Badischer Winzerkeller eG 2005 Pinot Noir
Germany, Baden
B+
A pleasant red wine. I like a lot of tannin in a good red, but this was not particularly tannin-y. The finish was not long lasting, but it is a completely drinkable wine. Great with a steak dinner.
Banrock Station 2005 Syrah/Shiraz
Australia
B+
An easy choice when looking for a wine for a party. The low cost of the bottle does not break the bank, but it is definitely not a cheap wine in flavor.
