Summer of Riesling is fine time for introduction | July 24, 10:29 am

"San Francisco is well into its Summer of Riesling - think Summer of Love with a different kind of acidity. And that collective silence you're hearing? That's the response. The semi-official part of this rolling parade is Riesling Week, coordinated by Wines of Germany and also unfurling in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas (there's a town that should appreciate chilled white wines in July) and Miami. It begins July 26 and includes such San Francisco venues as Fifth Floor (offering five Rieslings by the glass), Ana Mandara and Orson (Riesling pairing menus), Epic Roasthouse, Coco500 and Soif in Santa Cruz. Forget pints of IPA; it will be time for a Riesling crawl. But not everyone is playing the officially licensed version." Source: sfgate.com
