Primitivo is the ancestor for Zinfindel. this is an old vine varietal grape. Smooth, refined, buttery texture. Very Similar to California Zinfindel, but is grown in a predominately limestone soil.
Vin di Vino, Chicago is the importer for Feudi San Marzano (export company name). There are many good Primitivos from the DOC area, but this is the BEST one I found there.

Finish: This is a big red, and stays with you, full flavor front to back

Accompanying Foods: Italian dishes, pizza, red meats, and some seafoods (for me).
Positives: Great drinkable wine @ 2 years
Negatives: Difficult to find in USA
