Fruit: Fruit, along with acid and tannins, is one of the three main components of wine. The element of fruit should be concentrated enough to smell and taste, and is often associated with sweetness. White wines typically taste more intensely of fruit than do reds.

Despite that grapes are the fruit used in producing wine, a wine will more often portray elements of other fruits, including different types of berries, citrus fruits, apples, pineapples, etc.
